Hagstroms Safari was founded in 2005 by Annikki and Karl-Erik Hagstrom, a couple whose lives have been deeply intertwined with Kenya and East Africa for decades. Their journey began in 1966, when Annikki’s parents, Bengt and Eila Sundh, left Sweden to work in healthcare and education in Ethiopia and Kenya. Their commitment to helping communities shaped Annikki’s childhood and inspired her lifelong dedication to Africa.

After years of leading social development projects through the New Life Mission—building orphanages, schools, health centers, and vocational training programs—Annikki and Karl-Erik decided to channel their passion into travel. Hagstroms Safari was born to offer travelers authentic, meaningful experiences that connect them with Kenya’s wildlife, culture, and communities.

Today, Hagstroms Safari specializes in tailor-made safaris and cultural tours across Kenya and neighboring countries. With strong local partnerships and a deep understanding of the region, the company ensures every journey is personal, responsible, and unforgettable.
